Governance is just a fancy word encompassing all the things we do to organize ourselves, make plans and decisions together, get things done, and resolve conflicts. It also includes the rules and norms that help us establish a common ground and set some basic limits in the community.

We try to have as few rules as possible. These come out of our experience living together with diverse groups of people, and they have helped us to avoid conflicts and make everything run smoothly in the community.

Roles and responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities are also an important element of the organization of the community.

Rotating Leadership System

We have recently started this new system to keep the community running smoothly and improve a bit the day to day life of the house. The idea is to share responsibilities in making sure everyone's having a good time and respecting the shared spaces.

Why Are We Doing This?

Our rules and principles come from our experience with many groups over the years, and we have found time and time again that they are the basis for everything else to work in the community. We work hard to explain them properly and make sure they are fulfilled, but we believe every member plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and respectful environment.

How It Works:

Each week, two rooms per floor take on the role of house leaders, and we rotate it in a fair order so everyone gets their turn.
